Finally paid off the credit card!

Today was the BIG day! I finally paid off the credit card for the last time!!! I am a saver my fiance is a spender--but he's working on changing. I'm going to keep a secret from him and not let him know that its paid off, because he seems to think that when its paid in full, its ok to charge it back up again. My current plan is to put all our extra money into a savings account for a down payment on a home, which I hope to buy by next spring.

Gina....Glad to hear you are a saver. Did you have the credit card in both your names? Try to keep both your savings separate for financial security. Better to let him learn now before you do buy a home how to save.

Hi~the credit card is in both of our names--our credit reports are flawless and have been since the beginning of our relationship. We have been combining our money since we started dating, its what works best for us. I know a ton of people that have his, her and our accounts, but that would be too much of a headache for me! Everything we have is ours. I always say "he's my work in progress"!!!
