crafts

Hi All
I was luckey to see the live taping of the Carol Duvall Show this past week (tho she was sick the producer hosted it) it was so cool and got me in the craft mood.
I made a shirt for my sis and now I am making pinecone trees they look so neat on top of my tv and will probably donate some to the christmas shop at the school

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Wow! We all have things to be thankful for. My hubby had a double transplant (kidney and pancreas 9/18/90) and is no longer a diabetic since he was in 4th grade. He is now 47 years old.

I am so thankful to see that others are replying to this thread that I started. I have been busy getting my craft rooms all organized so I can find everything easier. lol lol

I painted some real cute snowman on recycled cans! I am going to make some stuffed snowman different sizes out of material.

Nice chatting and everyone HAVE A NICE DAY!

This year is my baby girl's first Christmas and her 1st Birthday is 2 days later!!

I really wanted to get her her first doll, but none of the store-bought kinds seemed quite right, so I'm making rag dolls for her! They are so cute, and so easy to make and best of all they are soft and safe for her. And who knows, maybe one day they'll be a family keepsake!

However, I am running out of ideas for hair and dressing for the dolls. Can anyone out there help? The dolls are made of calico and are about 50cm long, but they're also fairly skinny. Also, my 4 year old son has seen me making them and would like his own dolly, so if anyone has any idea about how to dress one up as a pirate, I'd be very grateful!!

Happy Holidays To All!!

Kate

Can you tell me how you go about painting empty soup cans? Do you have to prime the aluminum can with anything, and what kind of paints do you use? It sounds like such a cute idea
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving My husband and I went to my daughters for Thanksgiving in Vernal, Utah and had a wonderful time with her family and in-laws. On our way home, which is 2 hours away, we ran into an Elk. It totaled our car, and after an ambulance ride and time getting checked out at the hospital, we were very fortunate to come out with cuts and bruises. I had to have my wedding ring cut off because it was embedded in my finger and that makes me sad. I am very thankful we are alive, and thankful it was my daughter and her family that was traveling to our house.
Thank you for your help with the soup cans and for all the great ideas

Crafts We're Making

Thanksgiving break is over tomorrow, so we're ending the week with Tie-Dye Day at our house. The kids will be dyeing socks, onesies and nightshirts to give as gifts.

I'm about halfway through knotting one of those fleece blankets with the fringed edges. I also have three birdhouses on posts that I've painted and decorated, but still need to seal before they're outdoor-proof.

Crafts you are making now!Let's Talk!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!

I am trying to get all my crafts organized so I can have more time to make crafts this year.

I thought it would be fun to hear how everyone organizes crafts!
In my sewing room on the East wall with a window I have my sewing table in corner, long cardtable, cardtable, and 4 tier rack.
On the North wall is a closet with tons of storage in it with more racks, along with a plastic long stackable shelving. On the West wall old wood table that I have material drapped over it to hide boxes underneath, another 4 tier shelf and in the corner a metal pattern cabinet (bought from a sewing store going out of business). On South wall a have my dressing table that I had when I was a little girl turned sideway in front of window. (also more storage space under the dressing table)

In my other room I have wall to wall computer cabinets along with my big cutting table! This is where I store more of my pattern books. I am getting all of my books organized by author and in order by # of books. Guess What! I have found some duplicate books! I also have plastic storage boxes underneath the cabinets and can also store some on top of these cabinets! Wow! tons of storage space. I also have a bookcase in corner to store more of my books! I love the see thru storage boxes.

Thanks again for reading the above and will look forward to hearing how everyone organizes crafts!

I am working on crocheting dishcloths, kitchen scrubbers, toilet paper covers, potholders, placemats, etc. I am making my list of things that I want to make for gifts for this year (Birthday, Christmas)

HAVE A NICE DAY AND WILL LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM ALL OF YOU SOON. PLEASE REMEMBER LIVE CHAT ON THE FORUM AT 9:00 p.m Eastern time. Just click on the chat button, but if you have compuserve or aol, you must go to the internet explorer and type in www.familycorner.com/chat and will take you right in the chat room. We have fun. I am 46 years old, married from Indiana. USA.
