Making Candles Dripless-NOT!!!

I had posted this after seeing it on another site, so I did this and also put a candle in the freezer. The freezer one dripped and spattered after 20 min, whereas it took the slat solution one about 45 min.---I say, spend the extra $ and buy the dripless.

Making Candles Dripless -- Prepare a solution of 2 tablespoons of salt per candle in just enough water to cover the candles. Allow the candles to soak in the saltwater solution for about 2 to 3 hours, then rinse them, let them dry, and wait at least 24 hours before you use them. The salt water hardens the wax and allows it to burn more cleanly, reducing the chance of its dripping.

Update on this method

I'm a professional candle maker:

To make dripless taper/pillar candles:

you need 2 different types of wax, a softer one such as a soy wax for pillars V1 Cargill, then after it has set up, dip it in a paraffin wax Astorlite V. Thus when you burn it, the softer wax burns, the outer wax doesn't burn as quickly. So it burns in instead of out.

Hope that explains it a little better.
