| Tie Dye
My 11 6th grade Girl Scouts had a blast tie dying stuff at our sleepover this weekend. We dyed t-shirts, sleep shirts, hair scrunchies, bandanas, socks, shoe laces, and pillow cases. It was cheap, easy, and fun. It was kind of messy, but not too bad. Use plastic gloves and lots of newspaper!
We followed the directions on the RIT dye box, and mixed the colors in old plastic Easter buckets. We had five colors (fuschia, orange, purple, lt blue and dk blue). The girls wanted the rainbow effect, so we used small cups to 'pour' the dye over small pieces of each item. That way they could have several colors on each t-shirt, pillow case, etc.
It took 11 giggly girls two hours to rubber band, dye, untie and hang about 35 items.
Have fun! Dawn
