The craft ideas must be easy. We are babysitting and I need some craft ideas. The kids haven't done many if any crafts before. Any ideas? We made the jack o lanterns on the cover of Womans Day. Smells must a minimal too since one has asthma.

Copy a fall scarecrow or two on your printer. Let the kids glue on fabric, sticks, grass, leaves, etc. to dress him. Get some bird feathers to add a black crow. Make Indian headbands for Thanksgiving. Print out some ears of corn and let the kids glue on popcorm and green fabric shucks. Make handprint turkeys. The older child might be able to make a wreath of gathered leaves and acorns. Makes me want to come play with you.
You didn't say if they were boys or girls, but here are some ideas;
Go to: makingfriends.com
They have lots of craft ideas and some paper dolls and all kinds of clothes to print out to make your dolls into puppets or some color pages to print.
They also have beading patterns to make with Pony beads that you could find at yard sales.
Then there is Play dough you can make at home and have them sculp things out of it. There's even Edible Playdough.
You could make bread dough and bake pizza's or just shapes to bake and eat afterwards.
Oh Yeah, don't forget the Cookie Dough. LOL!!! That's always fun for the kids too.
Cooking not only is fun to eat, But there is alot of math they can learn by doing it.
With beads you can make Christmas ornaments or jewelry.
If you want you could make some Sewing Cards; First get some Poster or Tab board and glue or print pictures on them and then with a hole punch, punch some holes around the picture to sew through. Then either get some shoelaces, (or long pieces of yarn and tape the one end for a needle), And tie to one of the outside holes. Start sewing. If you print or draw pictures on the Poster board and leave uncolored, the kids could color the pictures before punching the holes.
You could also have them cut pictures from magazines and make a shoebox camera. Take an empty shoebox or cardboard box and cut a hole in one side or end and glue an empty paper towel or bath tissue roll in it. Then the kids could pretend to take pictures with it. Then they could tell you about the pictures they take.
Since Halloween is coming up. You could make some decorations with tissue ghosts. Or a banner with paper cutout ghosts, withches or pumpkins strung together with the letters HAPPY HALLOWEEN on them. Use this same idea for Christma with trees or ornament shapes and spell MERRY CHRISTMAS.
I could find more ideas if you need them. Hope this gives you some good craft ideas.
You could do some crafts with a Fall theme, Harvest theme, or even Thanksgiving maybe.
You could even make Bead dough and let the kids make their own shapes and stick a toothpick through to make the threading hole and stick in an empty styrofoam tray to dry. If you don't color the dough before they make the beads they could use markers to color them.
You can even make your own set of dominos out of the dough.
Perler Beads, Pom Pom kits, paper beads, tongue depressers, yarn, chop sticks(God's eye), salt dough, cookie cutters, crafting paper(Martha did a circle wall art wih circle cutters). This is just a small list of products that you could come up with so many ideas that can be used for crafting projects not including any recycled items such as cans. This could be great time to get the kids to do some christmas gifts for friends and family...salt dough ornaments...easy to make, a little dough, a little paint, a little bit of material for hanging...etc....
