My 17 yr dd just got back from a week long trip to France and Italy with her high school art club. I'm going to get a map of both places and do this for her. She will love it! Thank you for such a wonderful idea!

Thank you Lisa! If you do make them, i would LOVE to see them. Another idea is to decoupage the map onto a wooden frame and put her picture inside, one from the trip of course. This was a project I did for kaboose a few years ago. I still have this frame in my camper! Here it is Kids' summer crafts - Vacation map picture frame souvenir - recycling crafts - Kaboose.com

They really distorted the photo though not sure what they were doing there. But you should be able to get the general idea!

That's a really good idea Amanda. I would have never thought about doing something like this. Yours turned out really nice.

I have a place mat that my son got for me on one of his vacations. I put it in a frame & hung it in my kitchen when I lived in Ohio. Unfortunately, I don't have the wall space in my kitchen to hang a picture now.

Minny, why not put it on a shelf?

Happy face

I was thinking about that but was afraid it would get knocked off & broken. I only have 1 small shelf below the cabinets that holds my canisters. I need to do some major re arranging LOL

Minny

I bought some putty at the craft store the other day that is used to hang pictures on the wall etc. You could always put the item on the shelf and a piece of that putty on the section that will lean against the wall. That would make it a little more secure
