Anna, I haven't noticed any critters in the pots, but we really don't have too many here. We do have lots of lizards, but they're not interested. It is so dry here, and I don't water the pots much. We do get roaches and crickets, though, especially when the neighbors call the exterminators! I don't see them in the pots, however.We use the dry stuff with boric acid around our doors, and I think it works better than the commercial stuff. Well, I have digressed here!

Instead of throwing away pineapple tops, I plant them. I have some pretty huge pineapple plants now, and they were free. They make a spectacular plant.
Been using an old box of tide powdered laundry detergent to wash the kitchen tile floor. It really cleans the grout and has a fresh clean smell. When I finished continued into the bathroom and cleaned the tile & tub in there.

I do have a compost bin out in the back yard that we throw all of our fruit and veggie scraps and coffee grinds into. We turned it over and fertilized our veggies this past spring. They are growing like crazy!
At work, when we close a file we take all of the papers out of the manila folders, clip or rubber band them together and then re-use the folders again. The same thing with 3-ring binders. We band all the papers together and re-use the binders.
When we have meetings, I always bring a pitcher of ice water into the conference room. Any water that doesn't get drunk during the meeting I use to water the office plants.
I also compost all fruit & veggie scraps, coffee grinds etc. I am storing knitted washcloths(for gifts) in a covered plastic bucket that 3# of cookies came in. I am saving my 1/2 gal OJ jugs for a beekeeper on Freecycle. I always try to find a use for something before putting it in the recycle bin or trash(last resort, for things that can't be recycled or garbage).

Kathy's comments about files at work reminded me--I write in pencil on file folders. When I no longer need them for whatever's inside, I just erase them and put something else inside. It's amazing how long they last that way.
Years ago I learned to make entries in address books in pencil. Saves a lot of marking through or using white out.
I save the containers that sliced lunchmeat comes in from Aldi. They are my best "tupperware"! I also save any water bottles that the girls bring home from an event, save juice containers when I've caught juice on sale and re-use them until they cannot be re-used anymore. Paper boxes from work are used for storage of clothes, seasonal items. Anything that inspires me, I save and re-use!

I just refilled 6 empty pop/water bottles to take with us today for the amusement park. Figure that will cover lunch and afternoon and can refill the bottles with water from the fountains or pour any extra pop from dinner into them.
