I have not done much crafting of late but had to make a card for my MIL's birthday...I decided to try my hand at stitching once again...here is the result....I added a 3-d butterfly image and some rhinestones to add some bling.

Hugs debbie

That is just too pretty to be a card. I think it should be framed!

Thank you both....I really hope she likes it....Stitching was not so hard...for me the hardest is the time it takes and picking out the colors.....

hugs debbie

Do you use ordinary needles and thread or do you ue embroidery thread? Is it better to use a thin 'normal' sewing needle or embroidery needle. I am going to have another go at it

Deborah...I use an embroidery needle and floss...Right now it is DMC and Anchor brand since I have lots of it from when I used to do a lot of Cross Stitch...you can buy some threads for paper stitching...I find they are pricey....I may pick up some metalics though for Christmas cards.....I don't know the exact size of my embroidery needle....I know it is not a "big" embroidery one......I believe they are from my cross stitch stash.....I use an old mouse pad as my foam pad to transfer the holes. If your holes are close together and you use too big a needle the paper will rip.....I always use cardstock to do my stitching on as it is heavier than paper.

Can't wait to see what you make

hugs debbie
