Baggie Butterflies

This is a simple craft that almost any age level can do with a little help.

Need:
Fold over type sandwich bags
6" pipe cleaner
assorted sequins
colored paper or tissue paper
tape
adhesive backed magnetic tape

Let the children put about 2-3 Tablespoons of assorted sequins, glitter or colored paper in the baggie. This is a good way to use up some leftovers from other projects
Fold the sandwich bag over so it closed. Tape the fold shut to prevent anything falling out.
Fold the pipecleaner in half creating a U shape.
With the fold edge of baggie at the top, separate the the sequins inside so they are about half and half on each side of the baggie.
Starting at the bottom, gather the baggie up the middle. Slip the pipe cleaner on the middle gather and twist at the top. You have just created the body and anntenna of your butterfly.
Cut a small piece of magnetic tape slightly smaller than your butterfly body and stick on the body on the same side as the taped fold.
Turn over, fluff out the butterfly wings and shake sequins around to distribute them throughout your butterfly.
