Lightbulb What is your favorite craft?

Just wondering what you like to make, when you get crafting?

Currently I am into making jewelry. It all started when I didn't have something to wear with an outfit. I do make pieces for friends, bingo gifts & teacher gifts and of course for family.

Jewelry is one thing I have not done. I always have a cross stitch or some kind of needle work with me. I am currently quilting a baby blanket which is very colourful and fun. I belong to a stitch n *itch group and am always trying new things. I am going to start cutting plastic bags into strips to crochet shopping bags and rugs. I am also collecting tshirts to make shopping bags. So much crafting to be done and so little time!

My favorite craft is quilting. I'm not the best at it but I enjoy it. I would like to try scrapbooking though.

Cooked- I'd like to know how you make that bag using a T-shirt...this is something I'd like to learn.

Elizabeth- I've never quilted and would like to learn. Do you do this by hand or machine or both?

My jewelry pieces aren't 100% perfect, like at the store, but they have a lot of love in them. I find stringing the beads very relaxing- even when I do it over 10 times, because I dropped the end.

I never dreamed that my friends would want some of my pieces, but when they start buying beads for me to make things, I guess that is a BIG HINT!

I like to learn new things and sometimes it takes me forever to learn. I have played around with crotcheting, but I can't seem to keep one side from being lopsided (Ha, Ha)

Would love to learn your secret to doing something new-do you take classes or do you just read a book/instructions until you get it?

I really enjoy crafting, but just don't take the "me time" to do it as much as I'd like. I recently quit my job and have gone back to being a SAHM. One of my goals (besides getting organized again!) is to start crafting again. When my DD's were little, I sewed most of their clothes and dolls. I'd really like to start doing that again.

I do some cross-stitching. I do find it very relaxing and it's portable which is great for doctor's waiting rooms, etc.

I learned to sew as an adult. When DD1 was a baby I took an adult class at a local high school just to get out of the house and have some adult time. I really enjoyed it. I taught myself to cross-stitch starting out with small projects like ornaments and book marks. I have taken knitting classes but just can't seem to get the hang of it. I am hoping to try again.

Kathy- I'm a SAHM once again too. I got laid off from my job with no warning. The upside is that I am going to start Sub in the school district. That way I am on the same schedule as my DS. Got approved yesterday.

I've always played around with doing something. I like to have something to do while I'm waiting at the DR or Baseball practice. It seems I do things in waves, cross stitch, crafting or making simple jewelry. I'm always looking for something to do.

Thanks, Kathy! I am now waiting to be called, but that's okay. After this cold snag, I will be planting in the yard.

Theresa- how nice that you make cards and scrapbook. I haven't done that, I guess I need to watch someone or take a class, the only cards I've done were using a print program on the computer.

Bernice congrat's on the new job...

For Scrapbooking and card making you can find sites on the web that have free instructions...just type in Free Downloadable Cardmaking or Scrapbooking...

I still love to paint and that is my fave craft...
