Me and a friend just came home from England and we wanna do a scrapbook from our trip, but how do i start, please realise i need so much help as this thread really should be called scrapping for dummies.
I like making cards but thats all i know about papercrafting so i really need help from everything , even on choosing the book to how to choose paper and how to make a page and so on.
Hi ninna......wow a trip to England...bet your pictures are amazing. The thing about scrapbooking is there is no wrong way to do it. It is a book of your memories....you can use as many embellishments or as little as you like. Your biggest choice will be your album. I would advise getting a cover on your album that is very durable and that can be cleaned or wiped off. I have had some cheaper cloth albums and the cover has not stood up. The next choice will be the type of pages you want. Everyone has a preference. Some like the post stlye pages others like the strap type. With the post type you can get longer posts to expand your album size. I prefer a strap album. I would suggest making sure you have clear plastic covers for all your finished pages...that way no one can leave dirty prints on your work. From there it is really your decorating style....I use alot of souveniers from my trips to add to the pages and give info. I also try to do lots of journalling to tell about my trip. If you do card making you probably have markers, stamps, ribbon, punches, rulers, crimpers, paper, stickers and butonns etc to get you started. you also need a mount of some type....I like square photo stickers or a tape runner. Can't wait to see your pages once you've started
Hugs debbie

Nina When I do a trip album I will usually do a title page. I sometimes will leave the page white(or black or oatmeal.other colors they come in) Sometimes I will use a colored paper for the background really depends on the pictures and what I want to achieve.
Here is some from my new york album
