Kathy, are you 39 yet like me? ha ha ha..
No wonder you can still thread a needle...like I said, my arms are too short!

Also I think I need to put some brighter light bulbs in where I sit..at least for winter...

At 5:30pm...it is dark here..yikes!

Hugs, Janet
Hmm-mm sipping Earl Grey Tea...delicious!

Kathy, I take the scisssors & cut just a little bit off the end making a sort of point on the thread...like you do when you make a bow & want streamers hanging down, you trim the ends to make a point. Hope this is making sense LOL.

Cut the cotton on an angle, how can you see if it's on an angle you can't tell the cross section it's to fine, or maybe that's me and I need mums magnifying glass LOL

Minny I have used those needle threaders, they really help on small eye needles. Also when I cross-stitch,I find it easier to just take off my glasses(near sighted). I am so much faster & it is easier to see those little holes, lol.

I find that running thread through some wax helps sewing too.
I use that a lot when hand quilting. pinkroses

Pink roses I see you do a lot of sewing does wax on a thread not leave a residue? I've heard people do soap as well ..... just curious.

I found a piece of lumber, plywood I think, that was a nice size. I then measured and pounded nails in at a 30 degree angle, I think. I have a nice and cheap holder for all my thread. I think these are $12 at WalMart. I also but my bobbin thread on the nails. I think three bobbins will fit on each nail. I know at a glance what threads I have and what I need.
