Martha, dod you know how to make those Yo-Yo's? I want to make some for a lapquilt type quilt. I'm having trouble getting them the right size. I hate to keep wasting my fabric. I want the finished yo-yo to be about 2 "

Coll, I went to our public library and found some good books on quilting. Before you by books check them out at the library and that way you know what you want.

Coll,
I found you the perfect website for making yoyo's. It says to double your circle, so if you want a 2 inch then you would need a 4 inch circle.

You can use a coffee filter to make yoyo's for quilts. Take your filter and fold in half lining up the edges measire out how big you want the yoyo;s and divide by two. With a tape measure make a line on the filter and then cut out your new circle. Now you can use cardboard or quilter's template plastic to make a permanent yoyo circle.

If you want to read about it then there are some sites:
www.How-to-Quilt.com
www.TheQuiltingCoach.com
www.QuiltBlockLibrary.com
http://quilting.about.com/od/binding...ed_binding.htm

On line TV : http://www.qnntv.com
It is sponsered by Quilters club of american, you may need to join, I have been a member for so long I forgot. You may be able to sign up for the newsletter without joining.

Also Simply Quilts was on HGTV but no longer showing, but Quilt In A Day, with Elenanor Burns has a show on RFD TV. They are 30 min shows but show in series so you end up making a block each show and then have all the blocks in a specific quilt to put together. I just TiVo the shows and then go back and that way I can back it up if I need to.

Good Luck there are some sites that offer lots of blocks and free patterns, let me know I will send you my list.

Good Luck !!!!

I just started quilting about three years ago and went to a class a couple years ago. I still need to finish the quilt but it is a beautiful Thimbleberries House and Garden quilt. I really enjoy this however, I have to get back into it. I've been busy gardening so will look forward to it this winter. I also have made some memory quilts with photos in them. These turned out beautiful. How about anyone else?

I have been a quilter for about 12 years and am a member of a local guild. Another great website is www.modabakeshop.com; lots of great ideas.
