Take a paper plate. . . .

I figure I have probably made about 100 different crafts from paper plates with my kids and at Playgroup over the years.

Let's see how many we come up with here.

Luke made a cute one at Playschool last year.

Paper Plate Fishbowl

2 paper plates
Some goldfish crackers
A piece of blue plastic wrap or transparent blue plastic

Cut a hole in the middle of ONE paper plate. Lay the plastic across the back and tape or staple.
Put some fish crackers in the middle of the other plate. Lay the first plate on top and staple the 2 together.
Tie a string through the top to hang it up.

Draw a flower, or paste patty pans on to look like flowers. Cut a hole in the centre of the plate. Stick finger through and twist yellow and black pipe cleaners to look like a bee. Very Cute. Also works with the finger cut off a yellow glove and coloured with markers to look like a bee! Fun for a spring theme.

1 1/2 paper plates, staple the 1/2 plate to the bottom half of the whole plate and decorate. Punch hole in the middle of the top of the whole plate thread some string or ribbon. Now you have a paper plate pocket to hang on a door to put in notes etc.

Any one have any ideas on how to make a model of a turkey? We're to use household items, don't have to purchase anything.

Project is due in 2 weeks.

Coll, I googled "paper plate turkey" and got tons of results. Here's one.

I showed Miriam the paper plate turkey. She said it wasn't the right thing.

We'll think about it some more and if we can't come up with something else, she'll have to settle for the paper palte one.

Thanks Barb.

I think one of my kids once made a turkey out of a potato, with toothpicks for feet, and the head & tail glued onto more toothpicks.

Now why didn't I think of that?
I found a turkey made from a paper lunch bag. It is really cute. Printing out the directions now.

I teach k and first grade religious ed on Saturdays mornings and the teachers room I borrow for the hour has the most creative fun ideas.....yesterday on the floor drying were 23 turkeys they were the cutest turkeys I'd ever seen....she had the children use a small brown paper plate for the head and a large brown plate for the body then the kids had lots of colorful feathers out of construction paper and the legs , feet and of course the wobble(the red thing under it's chin) and they had made a face ...it was just adorable....I don't remember what they had used for eyes but you could use the eyes from the craft stores that move if you could get them to stay on they's be cute.
