I checked out a library book once once on tin can crafts. I think that was the title. It had some great ideas.

One of them was tea lights out of veggie cans. Tin snip all around about 2/3 the way down the can. Then use pliers to twist then down into a circle. Put some sand or pebbles in the can then fill with a tea light to use outside on the patio.

The book was full of good ideas. Check the library.

We made stilts out of coffee cans. Punch two holes opposite of each other at the rim. Put sting thru the first one and knot on the inside, make the string long enough to hold in your hand, then put thru the outside of the other hole and knot on the inside again. To reinforce the knots you can put glue on them. Works great with a glue gun.

How about drums, pencil holders, or plant holder.

Cans with lids decorated or painted make great gift containers and can be kept for trinkets and such by the reciever. Glove holders for winter. Or plants and such painted or decoupage on and it can hold garden gloves and small tools. For a teen girl ,decoupage with her favorite subject and she can keep make up or hair stuff in it. A boy s can be decorated with boy fabric cutouts for matchbox storage, cards or anything they want.
