Spring Craft Project

This isn't exactly a new idea, because actually I got the idea from another place and "tweeked" it a bit.

A few weeks ago when the weather was nice and the violets had just started to come out, my 2yr old and I went on a walk. She loved the violets and had to pick almost all we saw hehe. When we got home, I pulled out a brown sheet of construction paper and green paint so she could paint "grass" on her paper. We then took her violets and layed them out on the painted paper, then took clear packing tape to keep them in place. Much better than glue, protects the flowers, and gives the picture a "laminated" look. She was so proud of her picture she had to show everyone that stopped over the following week or two I was proud of her too!

My son made one the following week, only he added some other things like leaves and dandilions. Both look REALLY nice and were REALLY easy for even a little one!

That is a great project

That is a great project. I'm going to try it with my children. As they like to pick flowers.

Thanks, for the idea.

Another way to do it would be to put clear contac paper over the whole thing. It would keep the flowers in place and preserve them a little better, too. Great idea!

It's not a craft, but I like to keep my child occupied by letting her paint with her water colors on the sidewalk or patio. It saves on paper and the water colors will wash off.
