have no idea what you should do with Egg shells??
Well here is one idea:
after you have taken the eggs out of the shells clean the shells well, let them dry over night. Maybe you have a cardboard jewelry box, or pen/pencil holder, you can Glue these on with the outside of the egg shells face up, then paint over them..light colors will do well, (esp water colors) outcome: to make your own crackle, type pattern...
Also if you build your own, or working on your own dollhouse, you can glue the egg shells (egg shells face up) on the pave way you are making, to make it look like stone...............leave white or use water based grey colors, or browns, can also work on designing the sides, front or top of the house..........
hello sandy, and welcome to family corner, i am glad you liked the idea of the egg shells, if i come across any other great craft ideas i will post them, There is one other simple craft, but NOT for children to do,(at least not some specific parts) if you have the correct tools to do it, My father actually did it for us when we were kids.
Take about 6-8 empty cans of coffee or tea, remove the lids except one, take each one and sodder them on top of one another, (so it is like a tower tube) leave just one lid, when they are all soddered together (not sure if i spelled sodder correctly) take the lid and make a slit in it, enough to be able to put change in, (money) you now have your own piggy bank, a nice size one too, everytime your child/children get allowance they can put it in, if you don't want them to spend it, then i suggest to glue the lid on, the kids can help decorate it, if they like, with stickers, wall paper, wrapping paper, photos, etc.. Great way to also get them to help around the house with chores.
Hugs, melinda
I know i spelled that one wrong as well but you get the right idea, all you need is some popouri , and pantyhose, (you no longer use anymore or have runs in them, make sure they are washed and clean tho) Cut the feet off, about 10-12 inches, stuff them with the popouri and tie a knot, to close them, or tie them where it ends in a loop, you can decorate them with ribbon around the knot, where the loop is you can now hang them anywhere, door knobs etc,, they stretch very well, and will help your room(s) smell nice. Hugs, melinda
Here's an idea for what to do with the egg carton that is left over from the egg shells.
Cut the lid off an empty foam or plastic egg carton, then cut the bottom in half lengthwise so that you have six ‘cups’ running end to end. Fill each cup with potting soil. Sprinkle the soil with grass seed. Lightly water. Insert two pipe cleaner pieces in the front cup to form antennae. Now place on a sunny window sill and water every day or so. Soon, the caterpillar will get fuzzy with grass sprouts!
My Aunt and I used to paint them and then use modgepodge on them so they would stay hard. Next time you need to use eggs just pierce the top and bottom and blow the egg out(blow hard) this will keep the shell intact. Clean it and then go wild. Stickers, paint, markers.
