Homemade Paste

Make flour starch very thick from:

1/2 cup flour mixed with cold water ( like thickening). Pour about 1 1/2 cup boiling water in mixture very slowly stirring constantly. Put on stove and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Work in some powdered alum until mixture is clear white. Add 1 oz. glycerine (obtain from a drug store), few drops of oil of wintergreen (obtain from drug store). This may be stored in baby food jars.

Makes 1 pint

Nope this is paste to "glue" or "paste" things together with that won't harm children if they eat it. As kids lots of us used to eat our school "paste"; who knows if it was harmful or not; but his one won't harm children if they do eat it.
