Cyn, I love your "style" of painting. The black backgrounds are very pretty. It really makes the colors "pop". Do your use the one-stroke technique? i have tried that but just can't get the hang of it. Being left-handed, all of the directions are backwards for me. LOL The lighthouse jar is gorgeous! Is it from a pattern or did you design it yourself?

Good morning Stacik,
Thank you for the compliment. I'm more decorative with some onestroke and some tole. I Love Ros Stalcup's designs and style. The lighthouse pattern was taken from a rubberstamp. I started out my painting by rubberstamping designs on pots and jars and then color washing or painting. This time I hand sketched the design on and then I added the flowers, pathway and fence. Onestroke looks easy but I haven't mastered it yet even though I am righthanded. Hey you're the one in your "right" mind! LOL (I bet you get that all the time!)

I never thought of using rubber stamps for patterns...very good idea. I just finished base coating 2 jars black...thanks for the inspiration! I don't know what they will end up looking like, but probably something for Halloween or fall. I also just decopaged a jar with pieces of "denim" paper that I made the other day. I'm going to use the seam part of the jeans I used to make the paper to make bows and add some buttons and maybe a zipper to make a "blue jean jar". I like to make paper, but I never know what to do with it once it's done! I also like to make candles and have attached a photo of some cinnamon (sp?) bun candles I made a while ago. Looks like its time to do the second coat of black on my jars...bye for now!

Gosh, you ladies are so talented! I just love everything!! I can't paint, draw, sew, knit, crochet, do woodwork, or any of that so I am always just thrilled to see the artistry of others who do.

All of you should be so proud of yourselves. Man, I am! Sure wish I lived near each and every one of you so I could buy, buy, buy to my hearts content!!!!

Anna, Ooooohhh, aaaahhhh, they are cuuuuute! I can imagine that they would be great sellers! where do you get all of your jeans? Did you do the embroidery on the first one? I love the themed ones - what a great way to capture the school spirit!! I know a couple of my nieces would love something like this. Did you make up the pattern? Is it something you feel comfortable sharing? Let me know (post here or pm me). Thanks.

I can't wait to get another camera. Have fun!!

Thanks for the compliments ladies.

Lori Mae

yes, I do girly ones. Pink material with "Angel" on the pocket in pink or Pink poodles.

Cystenquist

I won't post this particular pattern on the boards but I will email you the instructions as best I can... this pattern is out of my head.

Anna

I forgot to answer some questions you all had asked.

On the western purse, no I didn't embroider it, it's a patch I glued on with Unique Stitch.

Where do I get my patches?

From all over the place: Joann's, Michaels, Walmart, Meijers, laughing lizard, ebay, thrift stores- some of the ones I go to have a craft section. They are sometimes hard to find but I keep an eye open wherever I'm at.

Cystenquist

pm me with your email address for directions on how to make these or anyone else too.

Oh and where do I get my jeans? The thrift store... I use only children's jeans.

Anna
