Mine are just starting to turn a little black around the edges. I just got mine cut yesterday.

Even though I am the one who made the craft that everyone is working off of, I am going to go ahead and peel some today and thread them on skewers. I think this time I may try to round the beads a bit. I will post my results!

Amanda, My beads slid very nicely up and down the string. No problems with the holes drying shut.
Suggestion/hint-if you are going to round your beads, a tiny melon baller may work. I don't have one to try but I think you may have siccess with it.

I love the melon baller idea, coll!

Can you believe that I went shopping today and forgot to get potatoes! I will make a special trip tomorrow to pick some up. UGH!

I thought about using a melon baller but I don't think that would work because it wouldn't be a true ball. The ball starts at one end and goes to the other with a baller, it's not a continuous ball. I will just cube them and round the edges and see how that works!

Wow I can't believe how hard the potato gets.
Here's what mine look like, they shrunk down to about 1 cm but are slightly thinner than cubes.

I finally peeled and skewered mine tonight. I rounded them too. They aren't perfectly round, I just used a small paring knife to round off the edges. I'll post a picture tomorrow
