Your welcome Gloria. It is one of my favorites.

Hopefully there will be coupons in my paper tomorrow to send off. There just hasn't been any inserts in the paper. Very sad. I called the peper and was told they only put in there what they get. Lady was very rude. Oh well. I will keep my fingers crossed though. Have a great day all.

Thank you again everyone...

for all the great wishes for my birthday.

My sister took me to dinner at a very nice restaurant. I took my entertainment book card and saved her some money. She also found a pair of slippers that I will wear between now and the time I need to pull out the really heavy fluffy booties to keep my feet warm. And a set of tiedowns. I guess that she is tired of my borrowing hers (only once).

My boss sent flowers from the office, my co-worker gave me a very fancy salad keeper for all the salads I bring to work. This came from Avon and had a snap out ice pack, a well in the lid for the salad dressing and even a compartment in the lid for a "slim" bar. I will put crackers there.

But to take thing apart to wash it was an adventure. I usually use a regular plastic container for the salad, a small gladware container for the dressing and a plastic bag for a few crackers or a some bread.

And the cards were all really cute.

My boyfriend took me to dinner last Sunday, but I don't think that counts, he owes me one! Haha!! And there were flowers on my pillow when I came home from work.

I will get gifts from Little Elwood this evening when his father comes for dinner.

Other gifts from friends included 2 lottery tickets ($2 return on those), 3 crochet leaflets and a magazine subscription.

I have been pretty busy though, my uncle fell and broke his hip and is in the hospital.

I have been trying to make sure that I get up a) if no one is going in the evening, or b) if my aunt needs a ride. She doesn't like to go by herself, and the medicine has made him pretty nasty. They finally operated after much debate because they were afraid that with his heart problems and emphasemia the anesthesia would kill him.

So he was there almost a week before they did the operation. They finally got him up into a chair yesterday, but he is so weak, and frail (89 lbs when he went in). His idea of a walk is from the kitchen table where he sits and watches tv to his bedroom. So rehab is not going to be a picnic either. And eating like pulling teeth. His idea is he doen't want to get a full belly there because he is only laying around. For dinner last evening he ate 1/2 a tuna sandwich and part of container of ensure. He has some sort of a nerve condition that makes it hard for him to hold utensils also. At home my cousin cuts up his food for him.

Anyway, that is what I have been up to.

Today I am going to my one boss's housewarming. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and it should be fun. I made him and his wife an afghan.

Elwood is going with me. He is old enough to saty by himself. But he has met Jon and Linda when I got my head shaved. And Jon mentors a boy Elwood's age from the inner city in Atlantic City who needs all the help he can get. No parents, lives with an aunt who has too much to do to notice him much, has a brother who is in jail more than out who he seems to idolize. So Elwood is going with a football and a couple of skateboards and will make a new friend. Elwood's philosophy is that all kids are his friends.

Well, better go for now. It is time for a bath, then to the store. I will be making mashed potatoes before I go, for dinner this evening. That way, I only have to heat up my already-cooked rotisserie chicken from Sam's Club we bought yesterday, and make a veggie when I come home. The chicken will be gently re-heated in the oven as the potatoes will be nuked in the microwave. So that will take away any anxiety associated with dinner.

Take care all!! Norma

To Jnlowe

You lucky girl!! Do you get to Memphis often? If I lived as close as you I'd be over there 24/7 eating Barbeque then, I'd be h-u-g-e<er>

Our oldest son goes to Kennet quite frequently. His BIL is a doctor there...an ear, nose, throat specialist.

We're in the Branson area..8 miles from Branson, 5 miles from Silver Dollar City but 1/4 miles as the crow flies. We can see the cars parked in two of the parking area, top of rides and hear the train whistle each and everytime is b-l-o-w-s. At 9:30 every night the eastern sky lights up as Celebration City is closing. ... A beautiful area with lotz to do and LOTZ of tourist. January - April is the locals fav time of year. We can actually travel w/o being in a traffic jam. Most of the time we travel to Springfield for shopping and pleasure. Easier and quicker [and further] than traveling into Branson.

When you plan on coming this way, contact me. I'd love to meet you.

Gloria
