My friend in PA had snow. Hope you are all OK with the weather. It was 72 in the Upstate of SC yesterday and cooled down to the 50's today. To be 70 again tomrorow. This is the reason I moved to SC from PA and don't miss the snow "in the winter" as others here do.
Only shopping I did today was more batteries for the anti-barking dog house and a dog silent whistle that hurts their ears when they bark. That seemed to work as the anti-barking birdhouse works sporadically.
Got quite a scare, heard the dog, who lives down the street, bark very loudly outside my den window and I'm just inside on the computer It sounded "like he caught something". If it was a human, he/she had no business being out there! I'm not going out as it was after midnight. I'll find out what it was in the morning!
All is quiet now.

Good evening all!!

Patti, hope to see lots of coupons from you soon. Cutting is the longest and slowest part of the couponing process. Hope you ate out somewhere really good.

Blondie - did you call the police?

My cat comes right in and jumps on me whenever she hears something outside when I am sleeping. If I don't hear anything, I figure it was someone walking through my yard and that they are gone already. If I hear something, I know where the phone is. Haven't had to go to the phone yet, but was scared a couple of years ago, when I was pretty sure I heard someone "try" the bedroom window. That was pretty scary.

We didn't have any weather, and are expecting a little rain tomorrow.

My free seeds from Gardens Alive came this afternoon. Now for the weather to get and stay nicer.

Ladies, better go for now. Take care all, and Happy Clipping!! Norma

a 3 day period to include a Sat or Sun.
So will do it between now and seeing her again

checking out to do it again and then it was

Norma - I didn't call the police as it appeared the loose dog took are of the problem! Never heard another thing! No bodies in my yard this morning, so must have been a squirrel he caught. There are many on my 5 acres here with the 3 acres in woods.
Good day at the grocery store, too cold and windy last night to shop. Today, purchased $57, paid $7. The SIL of my friend, who runs the food pantry, is being very good about taking the food and helping me count and write it down. I'd rather have her come alone than with her grown granddaughter who tries to rush us. I have my system of taking the food out of my car, putting it in my friend's trunk, untying the bags, and then counting the food.
My friend in rehab sees the Dr. tomorrow for her knee. She wants to go home, says they are keeping her because she has good insurance and she is probably right. Her SIL went from the hospital to her home, never in rehab.
It was a nice day in SC, in the high 50's.
I didn't get the oil change Saturday in my Mercedes at church as the Oil Change Ministry was rained out. They will do it Saturday. I took my Mercedes to my friend's rehab and when I came out, the car would not back up. AAA Auto Club towed it home for me, and it is sitting in my back yard until I talk with a mechanic about it. I start it every day and can move it forward, just won't go in reverse. So, I'm driving my 2006 van. The church will change the oil in my van Saturday.
I bought a dog whistle for the barking dogs across the street at my birdhouse was working sporadically. Seems the whistle did the job last night and today. My friend said he trained his dogs with it. After blowing it last night in front of my mailbox on my side of the street, and in front of the barking dogs, I came around the house to go inside. The dogs behind my 3 acres were barking. I blew the whistle a few times and they stopped. My friend from the music, a retired physics professor, said the sound waves from the silent whistle carry quite a long way, so that it why it quieted the dogs behind the house. So, it is quiet tonight.
The other coupon club that started up at the library by one of the women who gave me so much trouble in my class, has it on Monday. I didn't see many coming into the library for it or leaving either. It is an answer to a prayer that she started her own club as she was driving me crazy and driving people away from my club with her antics such as taking handfuls of coupons before the envelopes went around the table to the others.
Glad you are all getting good deals with coupons.
Wendy's restaurant here is putting a survey on the back of their receipt. If you call in and complete the survey, you get $2 off a large sandwich or large salad on your next visit. All the Wendy's here are not participating, but I know of one who is.

Good morning all!!

Blondie, that is great savings. Sorry to hear about the car problems, but they do happen. Hope it is a quick, and inexpensive fix.

I went to Bible Study last night, and one of the women gave me a bag with this week's coupons in it. Another woman at the table asked, and I told her I am involved here, and that I try to make sure I get the "freebies" and take them to our free store. When I told her that I personally give $5 per week, and see how far it will stretch after coupons, and that sometimes I end up with some interesting items (body sprays, aspirin, K-Y liquid), she is totally onboard. She will start bringing me her coupons too.

Another friend brought me a can of lychee fruit. We had had dinner at a chinese buffet and the restaurant had them. I adore them, but it is a hard to find item in my stores. She had been in Conn. with her daughter who came back from Japan, and had been to an "oriental food store", and found them there, and thought of me.

And I had brought another friend her homework papers from the week before. There was a lot of activity at that table for a couple of moments.

Ladies, better go for now and get ready for work. We are having our annual "soup" day. I made split pea with ham.

Take care all, and "Happy Clipping". Norma

Had a good time while out with
Stacie today and rain held off
till we were almost ready to come
back here so that was good.
We had our IHOP meal which was
good and got one of them free.
Picked up my meds one was there
I was not expecting but needed so
glad of that. Got some good deals
at Kroger and Super K-Mart and
between everywhere saved $38.32
so was happy about that. Got some
Valentine candy for Steven and Judy
as well as Stacie and the grands. They
are mine in my heart just as if they were
blood or even legal ones. But that makes
them my greats. Love those girls

Norma - thanks for your kind words on my savings. Glad the women at the Bible Study are interested in coupons and will bring them to you. I find here that all I have to do is ask. The men and women are also interested that I send the expired ones overseas, glad they don't have to throw them away anymore.
Didn't purchase much today, $30, but only spent $7. Today is $.01 item day, which was a 2 ltr. Publix coke and senior discount day. It is hard to find a handicapped parking spot on senior discount day, but I finally found one.
The new classes started at the Baptist Church I attend during the week, eat dinner then go to class. My favorite Minister, the one who has been assigned to Evangalism and visitation, is teaching the class on Proverbs. He understands that I won't be buying a book as I can't remember to bring it. He's good and I enjoy the way he teaches. He mentioned that I understand his way of teaching, with his talking fast. I think he did that to let the others know I'm in the class. Most are members of the church and I am not. I told him I can keep up with him as I'm from Phila. The church members are excited as this was the first class meeting in the new building. Already, the rooms are too small, not enough chairs. That is great that the church is growing that much. Just in the last 2 yrs. they have started reaching out to the community. One of those programs for the community is the Oil Change Ministry. Some think it is only for church members, but it is for any single woman or senior disabled man in the community. If a church only serves its members, it will die out as the Shakers did.
Another beautiful day in SC. The weatherman said the cold weather will come this weekend. I'm prepared with a new pair of leather gloves I ordered on the internet. I was pleasantly surprised to find they have the elastic at the wrist to keep the cold from going up my arms.

Good evening all!!

There should be 2 inserts in this week's papers.

Patti, hope the legs settled down, and allowed you to get back to sleep.

Blondie, I was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church when I lived in Jax, Fl.

These days, the chruches up here have a lot more programs, for seniors, for teens, for those younger, young marrieds, etc.. You only have to go to the church, read their bulletins, and figure out what programs you want to be a part of.

Well ladies, better go for now. You all take care, and Happy Clipping. Norma
