I have decided that 2009 is the year that I get my life back on track after a very tough year. One of the things I would like to do is join the coupon swap club. Norma, I will PM you to get the instructions. Thanks so much for doing this for all of us!
Charlotte, I got your pm and have responded to it too.
Welcome aboard to all who want to join. This year may be a really tough one, or it might just be looking up a littl.e
There was a pretty quick story on the news this morning stating that Weis markets will be "freezing" prices on staples from now until April 1st. That means that prices should start creeping down. Or, at the very least, holding steady and not increasing. And, if one chain starts this, all the major chains should line up right behind them. But, again, it was really quick, and no particular products were mentioned. Hopefully "staples" means milk, bread, cereal, rice, pasta, maybe even some produce.
Norma, I hope you're right. I do know that milk has started to come back down here, at least at WM. We are now paying $2.59/gallon there. All of the other markets are well over $3.00.
Norma I got your message. I will put my list together and some coupons in the next week or so. Dh always likes to see how much I save with coupons. It has always amazed him how well I do at the grocery store.
Tue. night, I used all the coupons I had for Ronzoni Smart Pasta, 22 of them. I got a lot of macaroni and spaghetti. Don't like spaghetti as much a mac, so will return the spaghetti next week when they restock their macaroni. My coupons were $1/1 and the price of all the Ronzoni Pasta was $1.67, so I saved 33% with the coupons. They had coupons $1/1 that expired in Sep, Nov and Dec, so hope they come out with more in January. The local newspaper wrote a story on me, took pictures today. It is to be in Monday's newspaper on my coupon use and that I send the expired ones to the military bases overseas. The photographer was impresed, said, "Everyone should have this information!" I gave him my printout from my computer files showing that in 2008 I purchased $4,600 in groceries, paid $1,200 and saved $3,400!
