When you shop discount food stores (Aldi, Save a Lot, Dollar stores) or buy store brands it is harder to SEE your savings because the register tape doesn't tell you it.

Sometimes I think we need to look at the regular price of national brand items to really understand what we are saving by shopping at discount stores, buying store brands and using coupons.

I try to pay attention no matter what store I am in. Never been in Aldi's as we don't have them here and we do have a Save A Lot but have not been there yet. Am hoping too soon tho'.

Wish they delivered the coupon and the sale papers at nite instead of waiting till in the morning with the rest of paper. They do that when there is a REALLY big paper as hard for the carriers to handle the big papers. My brother Bob was a carrier and I use to go with him sometimes and help him don't look now but that was work. Especially on rainy (or suppose to rain nites) as had to put in the bag one way and turn the opening down in to yet another bag. Bob never wanted any of his customers to get even one sheet wet. My old neighborhood (where I just moved from) was part of his route I refused to let anyone take out the paperbox he put in, what can I say a sentimental slob I am. When he was in hosp and for 2 weeks after he came out Gina and I did the route every day for him. We both lost weight lol

Good morning all!!

Well, shopping was so-so. I didn't need too many of the Thanksgiving items, just a couple to add to the bags of groceries my boyfriend will delivery to a needy family. I got a big can of yams. And one of my nephew's friends moved away from home a few months ago, and we all worry about him eating. He burned his tastebuds years ago, and isn't really interested in eating, and is really picky about what he does eat. So, I picked up some pancake mix. Pancake syrup wasn't on sale, so not this week. I am planning a "food box" for his Christmas gift - he is a kid who is really nice to my nephew.

I found another of the Banquet "Try Me Free" items - the crockpot meatball stroganoff. It is in the crockpot now, and the rebate form has already been filled out.

Then I stopped at CVS for a flier. There really aren't any good extra bucks deals for this week, so I wasn't real interested. But I did find some of the essential oil diffusers with the bamboo which was a good thing. I also picked up a "warming throw". It is a smaller electric blanket that is supposed to be for use on the couch. It was $39.99 and came down to $12.74 after all the extra bucks I used. And, there is a $5 rebate on that. So it is actually $7 and change.

Well ladies, better go for now. I am goal oriented to getting this afghan I am working on today, completed.

Take care all!! Norma
