Success to report from the yard sale. I sold $115.00 worth. Mostly stuff I got free with coupons - thanks to Carol Ann and this group. i sold only 1 of the tea kettles, but that brings the total sold to 4. And I only need 3 more to break even. But I sold more than enough, that I paid for them in full today. I feel "roll over" money in my pocket again.
My girlfriend who came down with some plants and a few other things, has now invited me to go to her home next Saturday for their community-wide sale. So I will be trucking some of my stuff up there next Saturday.
After eveyone left, and we had packed up and put everthing away, my area was under a tornado warning for about an hour. We did have severe thunderstorms, but they passed quickly we have sun again. This is only the 2nd really nice day we have had since last fall.

Excited about receiving coupons, are we?? I love it. Money in the pocketbook, instead of in the register. I don't mind paying for anything, but if there is a way to get it for less, I'm there.
I also shop the day-old bread section for luscious cakes and other baked goodies. Right now, for breakfast I am having a slice of ciabatta bread with cheese that I heated in the microwave. I can't make the ciabatta bread, and I won't pay $3.00 for a loaf. But I will buy it day-old, and then use it. The section of the produce where they mark down the "scratched and dented" produce is where I get great buys on peppers, bananas, etc. Corn and tomatoes are really "past their prime", but other things aren't. The trick is to pick and choose. And those coupons that say "$1.00 off produce" when you buy a certain product, can certainly go a long way, because produce is produce. I take peppers and bananas home, cut out the bad spots, chop and freeze. A pot of chili will never know the difference and banana bread is always better with older fruit.
