I just back from the market. I found a new trial size of dry cat food, for $.49 for an 8 oz. box. Do you have any coupons for 9 Lives dry food that do not have a certain size box/bag on them? I could really use them.
As Prince gets older I am trying to switch him to more dry and less wet food.
It is really cold here today, and we are looking to get the snow from that system that has been working itself across the country, and it will combine with a system coming up the coast, and will turn into a nor'easter. They seem to be under predicting again, down from 10-15" to 3-6". I am ready.
I picked up another 25 lbs. of ice melting crystals, my snow shovel and broom are within reach, and Elwood's mother is leavnig for the restaurant at the same time the snpw is expected to start - captive labor. I will pay him well though.
I backed the car under the carport and put the driver's side on the side where the neighbor's fence is, less snow and more room on the driver's side to shovel and be able to get in and start the car. I had some plant holders against the garage, I moved them to allow him to shovel all the way around the car without worrying about hitting anything there either. I also filled up the tank on the way home.
I removed my solar lights that are close to the ground, so that if Elwood hits that area with the shovel, he won't break anything. I also picked up all the twigs and any limbs laying around the backyard (we won't be shoveling out there, but maybe there will be some snowboarding), so that nothing hits them either.
I am ready. And I have plenty of things to do, I took off my coat, and decided to wash it, all the gloves and scarves too, then everything.
I got a nice corned beef at the market and will have that with potatoes, carrots and cabbage for tomorrow's dinner. Nice, hot comfort food. The house will smell so good tomorrow also. But I am afraid that I won't be able to get out to get the papers tomorrow.
Well ladies, let me go. Carol Ann, I would really appreiate those coupons, if there is such a thing out there. Thanks in advance.
Did you get my labels and small donation from the coupon deprived area of Michigan? lol
As you know Sis, snow has been keeping us busy..142" has fallen so far this season, and that compacts and presses down to 40" on the ground. It has been snowing everyday here.
My guys have shoveled the roofs 2 times now, and we had a ton of icicles too...the ice had cloged up our roof vents, so the heat from the furnace could not escape, so it melts the snow and icicles form..it sounds pretty hey?
Well what happens then, the ice dams up under your shingles, and starts to leak into your windows, so it starts to rain through the top of your wooden window frames.
So ever so slowly thru the nght it dipped, and ran down the wall, and made a huge lake on the living room floor.
This all could of been avoided, if they would of done the roof when I told them too...lol
I guess they haven't figured out, Mom knows best! lol
Norma, the ones I do have, all have weight sizes on them. I'll be on the look-out for the ones you need.
Lil Sis, ,
Just got your envie, in today's mail. Thank you for all of everything!
We had a snowfall, during the night, of at least 10", and it is still falling. Not much, compared to your snowfall! Am glad that I did all my running yesterday.
Didn't get a notice from Taylortown this week. So, don't know if there will be coupons in this sunday's paper????
How about anyone else? Anna????
We are getting Hit tonite, so don't know if I will get any coupons this week to send...if not sorry autumn and all that need them... this would be week 2
If its not the Snow then its the SO's other obligations... the store across the street has lost water due to freezing, and she has a laundry mat ...I feel bad for her... BUT if the weather is so bad.... I will check her papers and maybe get extra coupons.
(she doesn't get the one paper that I love ... but if she has no sales...$5. of papers is worth it to me for the coupons for us all)
Hope you all stay warm
Sue~
Got my coupons for tomorrow already! Our local paper puts the Sunday inserts in with the Saturday paper, and I picked up the early edition of the Philly paper--which had a notice on it that they won't be delivering Sunday papers on Sunday to subscribers! Sunday subscribers will get the early edition today and nothing tomorrow. They are seriously planning ahead for this snow.
There were 2 inserts in each paper--smart source and valassis. I haven't peeked in them yet to see what's there.
Carol Ann, I am well stocked here with plenty of BOOST! DD and her friends really like that drink so I got a gallon of the syrup. That makes 5 gallons of BOOST Want to come over and have some with us?
Lee, I should have brought you some when you came here!!
The ORIGINAL Boost (and Patti can back me up on this even though she doesn't like it--I don't either....I think you have to be raised on it ) has been made in Riverside, NJ since 1913. It was invented by a local pharmacist. It is a syrup that is still made and bottled in town. It's sold in all the local supermarkets, and the delis have "Boost slushies" or sell Boost by the cup.
You mix the Boost with water (4 parts water to 1 part Boost syrup) and serve it over ice. It is kind of like a soda but not carbonated. People around here drink it like coffee...even for breakfast.
People who grew up here have said that when they were kids and had bellyaches, their mom would give them the syrup over crushed ice. My mom used to go to the pharmacy and get Coca-Cola syrup for that purpose.
If you're out of a 5-mile radius of Riverside you probably never heard of Boost. I am pretty amazed that Patti heard of it "all the way" in Bordentown!
When I was Carol Ann's "secret sister" I sent her a bottle of the syrup, just as a taste of something truly local.
I believe there is some sort of legal thing going on between the Riverside Boost people and the Boost nutrition drink people, over the rights to the name.
