I was asked to share the cake balls recipe
1 cake mix (and all ingredients required)
1 ready to use container of frosting
VERY large bowl
Follow the directions on the cake mix box and bake the cake.
When the cake comes out cut and place chuncks in the big bowl, add all the frosting and stir until incorporated completely. Line a baking sheet 1" deep with wxed paper (may have to use 2 long sheet to completely cover bottom and up sides) Spread mixture on baking sheet, cover with more waxed paper. Freeze 1 hour or more. Cut into 1" squares. Melt bark chcolate (or semi-sweet chips) adding 1 Tb. of shortening to keep it smooth. Dip each square into melted chocolate and let drain over waxed paper on a rack. Decorate with choice of decor: tiny hearts, sprinkles, pipe fowers, etc.
I have make the white or yellow cake with fresh orange and lemon zest, replaced 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup orange liquor, then used semi-sweet baking chips to dip, and it was enjoy by everyone. Have also used the white bark and added the lemon or orange zest for those who have Tenitest (sp) a ringing in the ears and caffine is not allowed because it makes it worse (like dh).
Just make sure you use the right frosting for the cake flavor you choose! Vanilla with vanilla, strawberry with strawberry, cream chees with carrot cake, etc. My grandkids love to help with this too............ youngest is 7
@:-) Enjoy!
