The Old Talbott Tavern's Corn Fritters

This was the first permanent building erected in Bardstown, Kentucky and it still stands today and has wonderful food!

2 cups self rising flour
1/4 tsp sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup whole kernel corn
milk to moisten

Mix all ingredients together and drop by tablespoons into a 325 degrees deep fryer. Cook till golden brown. Serve warm. Some people like confectioners' sugar sprinkled on them.

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping"; now we just "chunky dunk"

Happy face

I love corn fritters!!! Mom used to make them for us all the time. Thanks for posting the recipe...I had lost Mom's recipe a long time ago . I tried to remember how she made them but could never get the ingredients right.
