Barbszy, when my dd was in high school, she worked at Wendys on the weekend and preparing the Chili was one of her jobs. She used to bring me home the "seasining packet mix", and what they added to one batch of chili was 3 32oz cans of Campbells Tomato JUICE, 2 huge cans, of crushed tomatoes,(cant remember the brand)cooked and boiled(gross I always thought) old hamburgers that no one bought, and they would boil them and than chopped the cooked meat up for the chili. The seasoning packet, which obviously hadchili powder in it but I dont know what else. That would simmer a few hours on one of the stoves out back before being transferred to the front to serve. I DO like their chili though. Oh how could I forget also they used 2 large cans of kidney beans(light ones)Im not too sure what if any the difference is between light and dark kidney beans, but they only used 1 type of bean.
Sandie, I don't think I have a pot big enough for all those ingredients! LOL! This recipe makes a decent copycat version, though.
I modify it a bit for my family's taste. We like pintos and pink beans in it rather than pintos and kidneys. And my big DS is thrilled if I make it with "EXTRA" beans.

Karen, I just posted in my Tuesday weigh in thread. The drs did get another feeding tube put in, after dropping down to 76 lbs. That one fell out and so a second one put in. Been doing well an up to 86 lbs now. Am on the feeding machine 10 hrs per day, and eat small amounts, by mouth, each day, with 4 cans of Boost also. Am feeling stronger. This time, no removing the tube.
Carol Ann, I think you need the "other" kind of Boost! Guess what--in Riverside, NJ where Boost was invented and is still made, someone is opening a "Boost Cafe" that will sell regular Boost, Boost slushies, pretzels and other snack foods. They'll make a ton of money, I'm sure. They love their Boost in that town! ______________________________ Karen, I'm glad your DH liked the chili recipe. It's a favorite here! I use whatever canned beans I have on hand, usually pink and pintos.
