chili and soup in roasters

I can't remember, how many servings of soup/chili can you get from a roaster full?

We are thinking about having a fall party since we never had a cookout this summer. Chili, a roaster full, chicken noodle a roaster full, a small roaster of veggie soup, rolls, veggie tray and a cup cake decorating station.

Sixty four cups of soup per 16 quart roaster...... each roaster full should feed 50 people. Sound right?

That sounds right to me.

I think that your party sounds like a wonderful idea.

The PTA board that I'm on in the elem. school this yr. feeds the teachers with homemade dinners and for their Dec. dinner, I'm going to recommend soups and breads/crackers again. We did it last year and I think that it went over pretty well.

They used crockpots last year (I did trays of assorted crackers because I didn't want to use my crockpot but I never thought of using my roaster that I have in storage. Granted, it would hold a lot more soup. (maybe too much?)

Have a wonderful time at your party!!

Thanks Tami. We are still tying to get to know people here. I thought this would be a nice way to do that plus say thanks to all then who helped us unload the moving truck twice in snow and ice. If we have it in Oct we could eat outside.

I have made soup in a roaster for years. It sometimes depends on full you are filling your bowls, but 50 serving is usually what I figure (sometimes a bit bit less with large bowls)
Sounds like a fun way to get to know your neighbor, Connie. I hope you have a great time.
