My dh's boss gave us a few lemons and limes that I don't plan to use right away. Can I freeze them and what is the best way? I would probably use the lemons in tea but not sure what to do with the limes. Any suggestions?

I freeze lemons & oranges & grapefruit. I just cut mine in half & put in freezer bags & freeze. I usually take the grapefruit sections & freeze them but I have just cut them in half too. You can always juice them & freeze the juice, but it might be a bit watery when it thaws.

When I had an over abundance of lemons I peeled them and put the lemon in the blender and pureed. I froze the pulp/juice in ice cube trays then put in a freezer bag to use later.
Sorry for btb...I just remembered that Norma (crochet2) cuts up lemons for her tea and freezes them all the time. She pops a frozen slice of lemon right into her tea. It cools the tea down and flavors it as it thaws.
You can marinate your meats that you BQ with both lemon and lime juices. Add some garlic salt and chili powder and let set over night drain off liquids and grill on the grill until done cooking.
You can also use the limes in mixed drinks.
You can also make homemade sherbert out of both lemons and limes.
I have frozen some of the slices from fruit punch and reused again.
Thanks for the tips everybody. The lemons and limes I had are all gone now. I froze and used for tea. We don't drink alcohol but since I posted my question I've seen commmericals for Sonic's drink that I think is cherry limeade. I never thought of using limes to marinate meat but will save it to do that next time somebody gives me some limes.
