Spicy Beef Goulash

This is excellent! Serve it over egg noodles.

Ingredients:
2 pounds lean beef
4 slices bacon, chopped
2 medium onions, sliced
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 can (19 oz.) tomatoes
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup sour cream

Directions:
Cut beef into bite sized cubes. In a heavy saucepan brown the bacon. Add onion and cook until softened. Add the paprika and cook and stir for 30 seconds. Then add the meat cubes and all other ingredients except the sour cream. Cover and cook over low heat until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours, stirring often. Just before serving, mix the flour and sour cream together and stir into the goulash. Do not boil. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Thought that I would share my grandmother's recipe.. I have made it several times but it has never tasted the same as when grandma made it.....

GRANDMA'S GOULASH
1/2 box elbow noodles
1 can tomato sauce,8-15oz.. however much tomato sauce u like in it.
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1/2 # hamburger

brown hamburger and onion. Boil macaroni and drain. Add sauce and hamburger to macaroni. Mix and serve.

this is the exact recipe she told me...

Sounds good

That is the recipie I used when I got married 32 yrs ago!

I'm amazed how my Goulash has changed over the yrs.
Since then its grown to have any or all of the following:
diced tomatoes, garlic (minced), Basil, Oregano, parsley (chopped), dash of red cooking wine, mushrooms (sliced), and any veggie I have on hand I'd put in soup, like corn, green beans, green peas carrots, parsnips, etc..
