What's your favorite recipe for chili?

As the weather gets cooler I like to make chili for dinner. My husband and kids don't like beans in their chili so I'm always on the lookout for something different.

I thought that this would be a good place for everyone to share chili recipes.

Do you have a good recipe to share?

Thanks!

Good thread Tami. I love chili and have used several ground meats in it but don't like it with ground turkey. I prefer beans in mine but then I just plain like beans all but Garbanzo and the large Limas

I like kidney beans in my chili but unless I have it when we are out somewhere, I give it up at home.

What other types of meat other than hamburger do you use in it?

I have used ground chicken (hard to find here) as well as veal and bison. Have never tried it with lamb but might this winter. I generally only use Kidney dark or light in mine but have used Pinto in a pinch

Oh, wow...please let me know how it turns out using lamb. I would've never thought of that. I love lamb but I've never cooked it in any form.

My chili is a little different each time as I don't measure and just cut & dump LOL.

I use about 1 lb hamburger, 1 lb sausage, onion, bell pepper, potatoe, tomatoes, garlic powder, pepper, salt, chili powder and 4 cans of kidney beans. If I have some canned chili beans I don't put in as much of the spices until the end when I can taste to see if it needs more.

I have used ground turkey in place of the hamburger and add more spices.

I started adding potatoes after realizing that we liked baked potatoes with chili on top so why not put them in the chili.
