Child coming home for the summer

I have a niece that has been away at college and is coming home now for the summer. This will be here first time "home" to live since last year she stayed with friends for the summer. Since she has been on her own for some time now the parents are really uneasy about how to handle house rules again. Have you had this situation or know of someone that has and how did you approach this? Sit down and talk it out right away or wait and see?

The main thing is you have to remember they are adults and have lived on there own. They are not children anymore. When our children come home from college or have moved back in with us between homes. They have no curfew any longer. I do ask them to call me if they aren't coming home that night. I ask they clean up after themselves. Do their own laundry. I will buy food but if there is something they want they either buy it themselves(enough to share) or they write it on my grocery list.

It isn't real hard if you don't try and be a parent like you where when they were in high school. I have learned the hard way with 3 our of 4 children being adults. But I do remind them that it is our house not theirs to destroy or mistreat.
