1 1/2 cups Bisquick mix 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 2 or 3 medium cooking apples, peeled & sliced ( about 2 cups) 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tbs lemon juice 1 cup boiling water Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
1. Heat oven to 350º. Mix bisquick & sugar in medium bowl. Stir in milk til blended
2. Pour into ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches. Top with sliced apples, sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix brown sugar & cinnamon & sprinkle over the apples. Pour boiling water over apples.
3. Bake 50-60 mins or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
Location: North of the Equator, but south of the Mason Dixon Line.

This was awesome! Very easy to make and oh so good!
We've made it 4 times and taken it to friends for a dessert party!
There was one problem with the recipe as it is written.
There is no milk listed in the ingredient list, but the recipe states to add the milk. I was able to google the recipe, as it is from Bisquick, and got that squared away.
We have tried it with the apples on top and on the bottom, and it works great either way.

OOPS!!! I goofed again! I forgot to put the milk in the ingredients. It calls for 1/2 cup of milk. Sorry about that!
