I go out ogf my way on both T-Day and Christmas as they are my 2 fave day's to cook out of the whole year. I always try to come up with something on each day that i have never done before as well as the tried and true ones we all want. Like the sweet potato concoction I have done for years with marshmallows etc the taters are mashed and have the m-mallows in it as well as on top of it.

It is usually just hubby and me relaxing at home. So I try and plan a big meal, but with as much cooked ahead as I can so we can both just relax. I usually either do chili, potato salad or sliced turkey breast and ham sandwiches with potato salad. A few other things I might throw in depending on what I find I can fix ahead. Homemade cookies of course! About this time I'm pouring through recipes to find a couple of things new to have.

We have snack food Christmas Eve beef rolls, veggie tray, meat & cheese platter with bread & crackers, etc.

Christmas morning I make sausage gravy, biscuits and eggs with my in-laws at our house. We normally have lunch/lupper of ham, green beans, salad, pie, etc. with anything left from the night before. Then when anyone gets hungry in the evening we make sandwiches and eat what is in the refrigerator.

I don't cook because...well really because I'm just not good at it!

Luckily DH Aunt is an excellent cook and hosts both Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners at her very spacious home for about 24 - 30 family members!

I'm really going to miss all that great food this year because I have an appointment tomorrow morning to have 26 teeth pulled! And I have to do it now or the insurance won't pay...

Oh well, there's always NEXT year!

This year it will be Osso Bucco with Rice pilaf and peas.
It's one of my husband's favorites, so we will have that.
I'll make some pizzelle...and Italian rum cake.

That's the plan as of today... it could all change! *chuckle*

Disney Del, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

I'm having the family over for Christmas dinner this year, and I'll probably go for the usual Christmas dinner of Turkey, Stuffing, Roast Potatoes and Sprouts, Carrots etc. I'm not having turkey as it upsets my stomach but Mum is making me a chestnut roast, yum!

It's great hearing about everyone elses Christmas menus.

Although we live in a summer Christmas area we still enjoy the traditional hot meal! Roast turkey, ham, potatoes, veggies, etc
Plum pudding and custard. (Plus another dessert for me, cos I don't like dried fruit). Then we eat mince pies, shortbread, slices, biscuits (cookies) etc all afternoon. Tea is then usually a cold spread. Meats from lunch and salads.
Too much food, but it is nice sometimes.

I think I have already posted here what we will be having but not sure lol. Both a small ham and turkey breast, dressing made outside of the turkey a first for me. Rutabagas, mashed potatoes with gravy, my sweet potato thing, green peas both canned and frozen as Stacie prefers them frozen and I canned. I bought a couple pkg's of broc/cauliflower will have that too. Her boys like some things that mine don't but after I am done everyone will have enough to eat and things they like oh yes cranberry sauce gotta have that and also apple slices which I only have Christmas.
