ChristmasShare with us your family's traditional favorites, what gifts you'll be making from your kitchen, and any other goodies you love this time of year!
Sharon thanks for the candy recipe. I am make my family and my coworkers bake goods for presents this year. I am going to try your candy to add to my containers.
I love this! I just had my street bake exchange the other day. There were 10 of us and it was so nice! Christmas music, we got to try everyone's baking and best of all, we got to visit, which is rare now that it is cold out.
I have another one on the 15th with the girls from my craft afternoon. Here is what I made:
Cracker Candy
35 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 - 16 oz package chocolate chips
white chocolate chips or toasted shaved almonds
Preheat oven to 375
Line a 13x9 cookie sheet with foil and spray with pam (or you can grease it). Lay your crackers out 5 down and then across until all are used in one layer.
In a saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar and stir until sugar is melted and blended. Heat until bubbly and boil 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and pour over crackers and spread to cover. The crackers will float. Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over. Put back in oven for 3 minutes till chocolate chips melt. Remove from oven and spread over caramel mixture.
*If using nuts, sprinkle them over chocolate and refrigerate till firm.
*If using white chocolate, sprinkle over chocolate and let melt, (may need to heat a minute) Use a knife or skewer and marbelize. Refrigerate till firm.
Remove from fridge and peel off foil. Break into pieces. makes about 5 dozen.
YUM!
