Patti, my dad was my Santa. Funny thing is, while we were waiting for him to come wake us, it never occurred to us that he WALKED from the neighbors house to ours! I never figured out it was him until I spotted the edge of his work shirt sleeve under the Santa suit one year.

When our girls were little we always went to their Great Grandmothers whom opened everything on Christmas Eve,,she is gone now so we still keep a bit of her tradition and we all open one gift on Xmas Eve...Then the rest are opened on Christmas Morning
We do Christmas Eve night. Our children and grands come over we have our Christmas supper and then open gifts. There are so many in laws that we have to set a date,But ours has always been on Christmas Eve.Then on Christmas morning my husband and I make the rounds to the childrens houses to see what Santa brought all the little ones.We come home for a quite day while they all go to whom evers they are having Christmas with that day.

When we were young at home, Mom always let us open 1 gift on Christmas Eve but she got to pick it out.
With our daughter we have always done it on Christmas morning.
