We go to my dear mom and dad's Christmas Eve and open presents there. Then we have open our gifts to one another Christmas morning. DS and DD (and baby Maddox, this year) will go to their dad's and my ex inlaws for Christmas. This leaves DH and I alone!! LOL.....As long as the weather cooperates. Or else, he'll be working. The day after I prepare a feast for us all!

We open presents bright and early on Christmas morning. the inlaws are here to see the kids open presents and have breakfast with us. We get together with my sisters whenever they have a break in their schedule.
We usually open presents on Christmas morning. However, the things that I usually request for Christmas cannot be obtained until later on such as fan club dues, trips to the race track, and things like. So, I usually receive my gifts later on.
we usually let the gk's open one present Christmas Eve-just before bedtime and hopefully not a toy that would keep them up for hours.
we open the rest of the presents Christmas morning-one of the gk's usually acts as Santa handing the presents around. I'm usually taking pictures of everyone else opening their presents so mine get opened last.
We used to go my parents house to exchange gifts with my brother and sisters and parents, but we can't afford presents for everyone this year so there won't be presents this year at Mom's and Christmas family dinner will be on Christmas Eve this year instead of the 25th. Christmas Day will be a day to relax and anyone that can will hopefully visit my parents and wish them Christmas cheer. (Dad wasn't too keen on the change in tradition, but it seems easier this way for my kids to bring their families over the day before, so the grandkids can enjoy their Christmas at their own house.)

For us Santa comes to our house before Christmas Eve.As a family we all go out to dinner and then Santa shows up at the house. Then we are back home for the holidays. We spend Christmas Eve with my mom and then go to my uncles house for a small gathering. On Christmas Day we spend it with my dhs family and Santa comes again too.
I keep up the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas eve, the rest and the stockings are opened on Christmas day... I am a bit flexible with the Christmas eve present though, as sometimes we will attend a Christmas /white elephant party and a gift(s) can be given at that time.
When the kids were small on christmas morning they had a gift in a sack on the end of their bed and they were allowed to open that when they woke, then we all opened them together.
Now we wake on christmas morning and open presents then have breakfast
We have a tradition that the kids are allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve. They have to pick one and ask if that one is ok (we don't want them open one of the "big" gifts). Everything else can be opened Christmas morning.
Of course this rule doesn't apply to gifts given to the kids from relatives or friends that are visiting and won't be present on Christmas day.
