Sit Down or Buffet

Does your family usually have a sit down

dinner on Christmas or do you do dinner buffet style?

We always have the buffet style dinner because there are so many different people that are in & out all day that buffet is the logical choice.

For Thanksgiving, we do a buffet style dinner but for Christmas, we do a sit down dinner.

Sit down. It is tradition. With tableclothes that only get used on Christmas to the center piece. All of it is tradition.

we have done it both ways, depending on where we are having it
as we have tooken turn in hosting it. It also depends on who shows up, if it is everyone plus quest, we have it as buffet... if only a few shows up and we can fit around the table we do.

It also depends on how my dh has felt, as he been sick in the last few years... and it depend on if he was having a good day or not. if so and we could fit around the table we do, if he not feeling good and wants to sit in his chair, then we gather around him and have it buffet style..

I think the main thing is we enjoy one another and not on where we sit.. to be together as a family...

We do a sit down meal ,kids at one table and all others at the big table. And as of yet , not a child has complained about sitting at the little table. My 18 year old gradually started sitting with the adults, so it has worked out nice. It's not fancy, just all 18 of us together with lots of food!
