What are you doing to get in the Christmas spirit this year?

It won't be long before Santa is on his way! What are you doing this year to get in the Christmas spirit?

Instead of exchanging gifts with each other, my co-workers and I are going to pick one or two names from an angel tree and chip in and get presents for them. We plan on going to lunch, shopping, and wrapping the gifts one afternoon this month.

Making my list of gifts to give and shopping at home first!

Waiting for Thanksgiving to be over! I am decorating for Thanksgiving, I picked up a fall themed candle arangement from Michael's yesterday for my front table. I'm planning on hitting the Goodwill for more decorations. But I am a bit disappointed with them as they aren't such a bargain anymore.

Kathymac that is a super nice idea the angel tree. I hope to do that this year again too. We have ones for small children (up to 14 I think) and ones for Senior Citizens. If I can I do one of each.
I like Christmas music but not till day after Thanksgiving. But Judy sometimes plays it in her room.

I am going to start decorating for Thanksgiving, too. Yesterday I picked up a small tray at GoodWill. It has leaves on it. It's metal so I'm going to spray paint it. I also got the cutest scarecrow to hang up. It's wooden and he's holding a sign that says "Happy Harvest". For $1.99 + 89 cents for both, I can't complain.

I'm like Patti, I don't usually listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving.

We usually pick one or two names from an angel tree each year, too.

Thanksgiving decorations are out....they sort of blend in with Autumn and Halloween - since I was rushed this year I really didn't do much of either holiday. Christmas decorations will start the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. I know where the boxes are at, it's just a matter of getting the "give-a-way" stuff out of one of the rooms I decorate the most (and put the tree), and deciding on what the theme will be this year - oh and whether DH gets a faux tree instead of a cut tree. Then there is sending out the rest of our Christmas cards...

Besides volunteering and donating. Without spoiling the cheer of Halloween, we have started making new ornaments for our friends and loved ones. We also go to some of our local parks to collect pinecones and acorns. They are perfect for the holidays.
