Do you say "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"?
There's a lot of discussion this year as to whether you should say "Merry Christmas" to keep the true Christmas spirit going or to say "Happy Holidays" so as not to offend anyone.
Do you say one of these phrases over the other one?
I say both. I have never felt as though I have offended anyone by saying one over the other.
I generally say Merry Christmas BUT now and then say Happy Holidays if it is like Christmas Eve since it is so close to New Years too. When a clerk says Happy Holidays I generally reply Merry Christmas especially this early.

I say "Merry Christmas". If it offends anyone, well they'll just have to get over it. This Christ's birthday. This is America & we all have the freedom of religion, whatever it may be. If someone doesn't want to practice any religion that's their privilege, but please don't try to take my privilege to practice my religion away from me.
I say Merry Christmas. I don't care if it offends anyone or not.
There are people out there that do & say things that offend me but I don't make a fuss over it---this is America, we have free speech & that includes having a choice of saying Merry Christmas or not.
If someone don't like it they can just ignore me or say something else like Happy Holidays. I won't be offended.
I say Merry Christmas and later, Happy New Year. I don't think someone's right to not believe in Christ should supercede my right to believe. I don't get offended if someone says Hanukah. I respect their right to believe that and say that. People get too worried about being politically correct.
I say Merry Christmas because the birth of Christ is what makes it merry but I am not offended if someone says, 'Happy holidays' or something else. Why should I be offended when someone wishes me well regardless of their reason? I don't understand why my own faith should be offensive to anyone.
