What are you getting your husband/significant other???

My dilema is that I never know what to get for my DH.. He is so hard to shop for. He buys his own clothes, boat accesories, computer stuff and pretty much everything he needs.... Sometimes it comes in handy, but at holidays and birthdays it sucks..... Any suggestions????

We got tired of getting unused gifts and wasting money so now my DH and I make a list for each other. Now we don't HAVE to get what is on the list but it helps. I am more creative than he is. He can say he wants something in june and I get it for him in Dec. I have to be more specific with my list to him! LOL. The problem is I am simple and he is well not. He like sflashy things and I like simple things. he used to get me wild crazy things and I would pretend to like them since it is the thought but I am not going to wear a red sparkling with sequins sweater to the sport bar? LOL

My dh and I do not exchange gifts for any holiday or occasion. If we want or need something we usually just get it as long as we can afford it.

I will say that sometimes he will send me flowers for no reason.

We much rather spend out money on our daughter then ourselves.

For the holidays we do not exchange with family. The family will get a gift from out daughter but not from us. The same goes withthem. I tell them NOT to get us anything but if they want they can do it for my dd. It has worked out fine for us all these years.

For Christmas this year we are going to Mexico.
All my dh wants is to be with his mom. I know helping make that become a reality means more to him than anything else I could ever say, buy or do.
I must say he deserves to have his wishes come true!

Gifts for husbands/significant others

Well, I have no pride. I am giving my significant other a bottle of champagne, 2 champagne classes, some chocolate, probably some pistachio nuts, and some lingerie (kind of a to me but for you gift). I'm 53. I am not sure unwrapping me is the greatest thrill but after some champagne I will look better and better.
From him, I am expecting an engagement ring, and if no ring, no unwrapping. Either way ring or ringless - I am expecting a fun Christmas.

mulberry204 - I did that for my dh for Valentines day last year and he loved it! I'm 44. I'm sure your boyfriend will love it too!

What are you getting husban/sign. other?

Boyfriend (manfriend really) just called and asked what I wanted for Christmas. He asked if I wanted a new computer and I said definitely not! How do you get the ring idea into someone's head? He usually buys me really nice jewelry. I don't need a big ring, I just would like a nice ring. He talks marriage, he doesn't talk ring. I guess next time he mentions marriage, I'll mention my empty finger. Wish me luck. I hate to be blunt about it.

I think with most guys you have to just tell em what you want, or they will never get it! Good luck!

Dh and I have been married for 22 years and like so many, we buy what we want/need when we want/need. So several years ago we started buying "couple" things. It might be new recliners, an appliance we both want (we're kitchen appliance junkies ) or some other item. We bought a new hot tub last week so that's our couple gift this year.

Anna (OSI) on another thread posted a wonderful idea that she's doing for her dh. She bought several gift certificates to restaurants and gift certificates for movie rentals and will give him a "Dinner and Movies" gift. I LOVE this idea!

If your husband is a do-it-your-self type person like my dh a gift certificate to Lowes or Home Depot is also a great gift.

I'm as hard to buy for as my dh and the kids dread trying to shop for us. :p
