Hello,
I can think of a few ideas, I hope they help.

For your brother: tickets to a ballgame, maybe a jesey of his favorite team, a team hat or the ever popular dinner/fast food coupon book

For your sister and family: car games for the kids, tickets to the zoo or a G rated movie, again a dinner coupon book, you could make up personal coupons like...good for 4 hours of babysitting, you pick the day. or a pre-paid sitting to have pictures taken.

Good luck!
Loretta

I'm guilty of giving Christmas baskets too but I tend to get out of control and make a basket for each member of the family that I started out making a single basket for!

Greetings from one Ohioan to another.

I know what you mean I love doing gift baskets... I have evolved from the previous post and now make all my own things for the baskets.... soap, candles, body powder, etc. much cheaper if you don't run into any freebie deals like I did with that Healing ???brand deal from Dasanti waters. those were the good ole days.

I think baskets are a great idea. They have a way of including different aspects of ideas that you want to give to the person getting the gift. They have a way to simple and cost effective, or you can go all out and it could be worth a lot of money. I think they are a good idea for gifts for christams. You should check out kevinkringle.com for more ideas.

Pinkie Winky ideas for baskets

Hi Everyone,

I was just reading this cool thread, you can always put books that they love to read, magazines (subscription to a magazine), coffee mugs, mug (with tea bags), craft magazines, make up craft kits, puzzels, games for the whole family to enjoy, videos, cds's etc.

I love going the the second hand store to pick up nice inexpensive baskets. Also the dollar stores has nice baskets! It is amazing what you can find at those stores. Also like the birthday novelty gifts (bags of dinosaurs, etc. for kids) can buy and put in several baskets. coloring books, crayons, markers, tape, color paper, etc.

Things that they love to collect like a bear collector: bear, bear calendar, bear bookmark, bear mug, bear pencil, bear key chain, you get the idea anything to do with a bear collector, t-shirts, night gown etc.

Nascar (tons of ideas there) sports wow you will have fun filling up those baskets!

Craft: favorite craft they like to make, buy a book, supplies, subscriptiont to a magazine, etc.

Christmas decorations: you can always put in a dated Christmas ornament in each basket !
year kids were born, etc., handmade ornaments, angel ornament etc.

Have fun!

Karen

I made a gift basket last year for my neighbors and their kids. Basically I baked some holiday cookies, bought a couple inexpensive DVDs from Sears, and included a Boggle game. That way they could enjoy the cookies, play a word game together or watch some movies. It was a realtively inexpensive gift.
