Last year for Xmas I crocheted scarfs out of that bumpy soft yarn, they came out great! I made one for everyone and had about 13 to make...I ran into a problem..Grandma surprised everyone with a knitted scarf! I had to scramble and find little gifts for everyone. Now Grandma also made knit booties for some and the people who didn't get any, wanted some, so Grandma has been knitting booties...they are great, warm toes and you dust the floors at the same time! lol

This year I am going to make Buckeyes(candies), fudge, chex mix, and Cracker Jacks. I will put them in decorative tins and give for gifts. I also thought I would make a few Dammit Dolls, Warm Hug Neck Bag, and a gumball machine lookalike. That is all I thought about so far.

I would anymore Xmas gift ideas!

Wow Janet, those are great ideas. I'd have to pass on the booties tho, since it rarely gets cold enough here to wear socks!! I love getting homemade gifts from the kitchen. Ya want my address??? hahahahahaha.

I've got some pretty jars that I'm gonna fill with bath salts, add a scoop and tie with raffia. I've also got a great tropical basket to put together with blue plastic plates, cups, bowls, tropical plastic ice cubes, a cute suncatcher and a 14" macaw statue.

I always run out of room to store this stuff before I run out of ideas.

Janet, I'm sure you probably already know this but when I did my Gumball Machine immitation I put a beta fish in there instead of candy and my 9 year old just loved it. Just an idea!

Janet, what is an imitation gumball machine? Have never heard of one. Also, the warm hug neck bag sounds like something I could make for my husband's aunt's birthday next year. Did you find the pattern on the internet?

Dorknob, the Gumball Machine is at:
http://www.geocities.com/kraftprojec...l-machine.html

The Warm Hug Neck Bag is at :
http://www.hgtv.com/HGTV

If that address is not working, just go the HGTV homepage, there is a drop down menu, I believe at the top left corner and select...Crafts&Collectibles. This should bring you to the right place. You can use the bag either hot, by warming in the microwave or cold by putting in the freezer. I think rice is better than beans...conforms better to your neck.
Have Fun! Give me a holler if you need help!

What great ideas! I think I may do a basket with movie, popcorn and pop for my nephew. Maybe some of the movie theater candy I have seen at wal-mart. I have even seen micro popcorn that comes in the buckets that you can get at movie theaters. Fun!

Blondie--What web site doesn't charge shipping and handeling?

Janet--How do you make cracker jacks? That sounds like a wonderful idea for the movie basket!

PS--that gumball machine is soooooo cool! I can't wait to try it!!!

I LOVE IT!!! That gumball machine is the coolest thing. Now I have to make one. Or two.......or more. Doesn't look like something that will cost a lot either. And the neck bag is very nice. I think I'll make a bigger one for my neice. She has terrible cramps every month. I also printed out the cracker jack recipe and added it to my cookbook. You guys are the greatest. Sometimes I have so many ideas floating around it makes my head spin. I better get busy!!!!
