Creative Ways to Give Money as a Gift*

1. Make a "green wreath" and present it to a family or couple.
(sometimes families need cash to buy food for their Chirstmas dinner.)

2. Make a money tree--aka Christmas tree

3. Give a book with money in between the pages...maybe a bible?

4. Fill a helium balloon with money

5. Tape money end for end and place in a gift box with a pull out slot...

6. Fold bills and make into a ring or bracelet.

7. Sew a bag..and fill it with quarters for the game machines, or rides at the mall or Walmart. (small children love this)

8. Leave hints around the house for the recipient to "treasure hunt " for the cash.

My Dad likes to wrap money around a present. When I was a kid he gave us a knife (like a hunting knife, great gift for a young girl! LOL) and he wrapped $ around the handle. I still have the knife, it had a leather sheaf, I think he bought it at a souvenier shop in KY or TN. He's done this with other gifts also. It's always a nice suprise.

Mindy, what a neat idea..my Dad gave me a knife once as a gift...a pocket knife...no money on mine though..lol

One year I received a plant with lottery tickets around taped around the pot and leaves. Didn't win but loved the gift!

Happy 6, I received scratch off lottery tickets before in a card...I was not a big winner..free tickets and $7.00 but the hope was there to win big!!!

I have fun, for they are something I never buy.

My MIL just turned 60 and my dh & I always have a hard time finding something to give her. We end giving her gift cards quite often. I love getting gift cards but I'm never sure with her. This year I bought a few small items along with a Barnes & Noble gift card, placed them all in a gift bag and tied a balloon onto the handle of the bag and I bought her a 2-person cake w/ Happy 60th Birthday, Judy on it. She loved it! She was excited about the B&N gift card because she's really into knitting right now and the knitting mags. are pretty expensive. She was also touched by the balloon and cake. She said no one had ever bought her a balloon and she hadn't had a b-day cake since she was a kid. My dh has thanked me several times for making his mom so happy.
