Tree Ornaments

Every year for christmas, my step-dad's side of the family would MAKE one christmas tree ornament. After eating dinner, we would pick one and unwrap it. We would rate them by who's was the creative, original or just goofy. I was wondering if you ladies had any ideas to make or to just share any you know of.

I use to make little stocking caps for my christmas tree. Use toilet paper roll, cut it skinny though and then tie string all around it and pull it all together. Sorry that was really good instructions but maybe you got the idea!!!

DH's Aunt makes everyone an ornament every year.
They are usually all alike but different colors.
Last year she made ones that were just clear glass ornaments that she took paint and rolled it in swirls around the inside of the glass and turned them upside down on newspaper to dry.
When dry she added the top for the hook and tied co-ordinating ribbon in a bow through the hook hole.
Simple but really nice.

One year I got wooden hearts

They were off some thing at the Salvation Army but I looked at it and saw ornaments. So I got it and I painted a few and then 5 yr old dd painted some. We still have them. I have also bought the ceramic ones and dd and her cousins painted them. They'll look back on them from years to come. I just have the kids pick out one special ornament every year or I send a special ornament every year. I love looking at them and so does my daughter. This year I sent personalized ornaments and other special ones I picked out. I then had the kids paint one and I also let them pick out one special one, an expensive one. My tree is eclectic and I love it because each one tells a story.
