I work at a Christian day care and our Christmas tree this year is in the theme of Noah's Ark. We did it last year and used cookie cutters and clay to make ornaments. Does anyone have any ideas that we could use for this?
You could make them out of foam core board using the cookie cutters for stencels If you use white you could let the kids color them.
You could also us felt. Again using the cutters as patterns cut two sides out for each ornament, glue them together about 3/4 fo the way around them with fabric or craft glue and let the kids stuff them with polyfil. Then glue the remaining section together. You could use little add ons to decorate them. (buttons, cutout shapes in fabric, there are many things at the craft store that you could use.
Good luck with the project. Wish I was there and could work with the kids and you on this. I miss working with the little ones.

this might help,,maybe you could use tin foil,the thicker kind,and cut it into anmial shapes,and then put little holes in the top ,for ribbon to go through,and hang for decorations,
look for the Noah coloring books.. reduce the size of the picture and then get the kids to color them, and glue them on cardboard and put string on top and hang them
you could make a copy of it twice with the cardboard on the inside and the picture is on front and back
depending on the ages of the kids you are working with. you sometimes can find fabric that is Noah or with anamials... and you could get the kids to learn hand stitch them and stuff them and hang them on the tree.
or how about stickers... and decorate like a christmas ball....
using the stickers.
