Ahh the smell of fresh Christmas tree

Went to a shopping ctr. and there was the boy scouts trimming trees to sell. Asked if I could 'help' haul away a few branches and they were happy to get rid of them. Then to Han**** Fabrics and purchased some netting. At home I arranged the branches in the ctr. of the netting, and made it hangable over the doorways, decorated with ball ornies. Now I have that wonderful fresh tree smell all through the house! The netting keeps the needles from getting everywhere and looks good too.
I refuse to go into debt for Christmas as its not the purpose of this holiday. I buy all yr. long and wrap, storing in a box with lid and have a notebook with coded gift list (grandkids). I get to enjoy my Christmas season because I DON"T have to kill myself or budget! They all know to put your order in early and hope!

Happy face

We put our tree up earlier this year. We usually don't put it up til the week before Christmas, but it was given to us & wanted to make sure it would fit in here. Good thing we did put it up . It was a pre lit one & half the lights didn't work!!! I played with the lights for 4 hrs & finally took all those lights off & put on different ones. It will be left up til after the new year. When we were kids, we never got to see our tree til Christmas morning! Santa came in the night & decorated it LOL. We could hardly wait for Mom to turn the lights on in the morning. It was always " the prettiest tree we've ever had" LOL.

Minny, Santa always decorated the tree when I was a kid, too. One year my younger brother caught Dad carrying the tree into the living room and demanded answers. "I'm getting it all ready for Santa so he only has to put ornaments on it! Now go back to bed!"

Happy face

We always got to help put the tree in the stand, but that was all we got to see til Christmas morning. I was 15 before I was allowed to stay up & help decorate the tree!!! I was taking my good old time going to bed & finally Mom said " Well I guess you're old enough now to help". Boy did I ever feel grown up! LOL. She wasn't feeling very good anyway with the flu & was glad to let me help. LOL.
