Ours will go up one day next week. I am getting out the decorations this weekend to see what I may add to it this year. I love the glow of the Christmas lights in my living room!

We will put our tree up during the 3rd weekend of December. That's our family tradition. We don't like to "rush" Christmas, and we like to enjoy our tree until January 6, Feast of the 3 Kings.
I will not even bring out any house decorations until next weekend, and those will be put up slowly during the season of Advent. It helps build the anticipation!
When I was growing up we also kept the tree up till Jan 6th or 7th for the same reason Barbszy does and also because the 6th was my bro Butch's b'day. When my children were growing up we did not do it till the 16th as Judy's b'day is the 15th and we wanted her day to be HER day. But now she wants it up earlier lol

I usually like to have mine up the first week of Dec but this year I think it will be later. With having my procedure done I still can't lift and my house needs a really good cleaning in the weeks ahead as I feel up to it...so will get that out of the way first!!!
Hugs debbie

Right now I have a half tree hanging on the wall but it is decorated in a fall theme. Dh and I bought new decorations for the tree this year. Our kittens are too wild to have a floor standing tree. So a wall tree was my choice.

I was worried how we would have a tree with Boomer (beagle) as he got into EVERYTHING but since we no longer have him can have the floor tree. Never saw a wall one sounds interesting.
I thought we might get ours up today but Adam is not here to set it up so not sure yet. Chelsea will help decorate it. She loves doing things like that (she is Adam's cousin on Dad's side and lives next door to me) and I enjoy having her around. Have started putting some things around tho'

Growing up my mom always put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and we left it up until after Jan.10th. I used to continue this at my house but I seem to get tired of it anymore if it's up too early and kept there too long. So we don't have it up yet and not sure when we will do it. I'm not in the mood yet. We take a Sunday before Christmas and do it together as a family. I guess probably the 1st or 2nd weekend in Dec. we will do it. Then I will take it down after the New Year. We have found homes for our kittens but decided to keep 2 of them, so I hope they don't bother it! This should be interesting!
Well I think I am the odd woman out... our tree is up and the lights on it...now just have to put all the snowman ornaments and tinsel on it and that is done...have most of the living room decorated and the kitchen done...Hubby already has the outside lights up and tomorrow he will put up the ladder that lights up outside on the deck and the 8 foot light up snowman in the front yard...we will keep our tree up until after the New Year...I love all the lights and want to enjoy them for as long as possible...
Our tree, kitchen and living room are all decorated in Snowmen...and a few Gingerbread thrown in...
I have one little tree already decorated with ornaments from the Ornament exchange, but have to get another one for the rest of them...
Smiles & Hugs...

This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
Members will be allowed to submit one story pertaining to a Halloween story and one story pertaining to an autumn story. Please click here to enter!
